Alicia
is a graduate of the University
of Guadalajara with a degree in nursing. After receiving
her degree she spent another year earning a geriatrics
certification. During the next 33 years she gained valuable
practical experience in hospice care and in nursing
homes. After so much time in the field, Alicia felt
she could offer geriatric patients two very important
things: excellent care and a good
listening ear. So, Alicia set off to the Ajijic-Lake
Chapala area with her family in search of a home where
she could tend to the elderly in a family setting. That's
why Alicia is "all about
family".
Alicia's family consists of her husband Pepe', and their
sons Guillermo (Memo), Octavio, and Alejandro. Guillermo
is married to Norma and they have a son named Christopher.
Guillermo and Norma, along with Norma's sister Marlen,
run the La Canacinta home, located just a few miles
west of Ajijic. Often you can see Octavio and Pepe'
at the La Canacinta home cooking a big meal for their
clients.
Octavio and Alejandro divide their time between the
other two homes that make up Alicia's convalescent complex.
Besides the La Canacinta home, two additional homes
are located in the Ajijic-proper area known as lower
La Floresta. Both are close to Lake Chapala and their
views of the mountains and lake are breathtaking.
All
of the homes in Alicia's convalescent complex are near
excellent medical and hospital care. Guadalajara, only
45 minutes away, has world-class hospitals and physicians.
